Artist Statement

With no limitation to subject matter or medium, I embrace the role of a perpetual learner. My practice spans a diverse array of materials, reflecting my exploration and adaptability. I am, at heart, a jack of all trades, constantly seeking the methods that resonate most profoundly with my evolving interests. A variety of subjects drive my curiosity, including punk fashion, facial features, and internet culture. They are prominent parts of my life, and I must create artwork surrounding them to satisfy my sense of wonder.
My work investigates human expression, imagination, and form, which manifests primarily through photography, drawing, and sculpture. Each medium offers a unique lens into the complexities of the human experience and the narratives I create. In photography, I am captivated by the fluidity of human movement. I capture the body’s contortions and gestures, revealing the power of physical expression. Drawing serves as my playground for character design and world-building. I revel in crafting imaginative worlds and bringing characters to life on paper. In sculpture, working with materials such as paper mache and clay, I transform my drawings and concepts—including fashion, emotion, and relationships—of character design into tangible objects. This process allows me to push the boundaries of my artistic skills, bridging the gap between my 2D and 3D work. I strive to blend technical skill with imaginative exploration, creating pieces that resonate with and invite viewers into my personal and fantastical realms.
Finally, my work is intertwined with the rapid, tumultuous changes of young adulthood. Each piece reflects my life, capturing the spectrum of emotions and experiences as I grapple with personal milestones, realizations, and growth. Art, for me, is more than a practice; it is a vital expression of self and a vessel for human connection. It is through creation that I find clarity and purpose. In short, art makes me feel alive, and my artistic journey is a reflection of this ongoing process—an evolving conversation with myself and the world around me.
